We are looking for a skilled Communication Specialist to join our team at Explore Community School. The successful candidate will have experience working with students with speech and language impairments and will be able to develop and implement effective strategies to support their development.

About the Role:

The Communication Specialist will be responsible for providing direct services to students identified with a speech or language impairment. This includes delivering pre-referral speech/language interventions, conducting student screenings and/or assessments, and developing and implementing high quality, legally compliant individualized education plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-referral speech/language interventions in Tier 1 and Tier 2
  • Conduct student screenings and/or assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation or hearing
  • Develop and implement high quality, legally compliant individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain student files and treatment logs in an organized manner to include as well as provide appropriate documentation to the interdisciplinary team

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field, Masters Degree preferred

This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $95,000 per year, paid leave, and robust benefits including medical, dental and retirement through Metro Nashville Public Schools.
