Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate and efficient registration and billing.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.
- Verify insurance coverage and complete pre-authorizations and precertifications, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Answer back-line telephone calls, redirecting calls as needed and providing assistance to callers with questions or concerns.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Scan patient paperwork and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (CPT and ICD-9).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
