All connector products are meticulously designed to comply with current performance standards, including Category 6a regulations for both Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications.

Primary Objective of Position

The Quality Engineer is accountable for the development, application, maintenance, and evaluation of all quality functions associated with designated product areas within the organization. This includes upholding quality standards and requirements, quality planning, reporting, procedure formulation, corrective action initiatives, and collaboration with Supply Chain to enhance supplier quality. The role involves establishing and achieving targeted performance levels in product conformity and process capability. Any deviations from the plan must be promptly reported, along with recommendations for corrective actions. Collaborating with management to formulate, optimize, and implement policies that create a clear vision and facilitate the execution of a results-oriented Quality Management System is essential for driving business-wide enhancements and fostering high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that corrective and preventive action processes effectively identify root causes of issues, implement corrective/preventive measures, and validate plans to guarantee the effectiveness of quality systems and permanent problem resolution.
  • Act as a change agent to implement improvements in production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Maintain routine data collection, entry, and reporting to ensure product conformity, process capability, and equipment calibration.
  • Develop and implement standards and methodologies for inspecting, testing, calibrating, and evaluating materials, products, returns, equipment, and processes.
  • Devise sampling procedures and establish systems for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Collaborate with management to further develop, optimize, and enhance Quality processes in alignment with ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards as applicable.
  • Assist in conducting periodic Gap Analyses between established goals and objectives regarding Quality system performance and organizational capability, swiftly developing and executing plans to address critical organizational and quality system gaps.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable budgetary requirements.



Technical Job Functions

  • Collaborate with staff and colleagues to employ quality improvement methodologies for assessment, planning, implementation, and validation.
  • Conduct and support mechanical/electrical testing for both new and existing products, raw materials, warranty returns, and calibration. Compile and provide test reports with recommendations for enhancements. Construct simple test fixtures for material, product, or process analysis.
  • Assist in developing written policies and procedures essential for the administration and operation of the Quality Management System, ensuring timely updates as changes in Quality standards necessitate.
  • Enhance and maintain First Article, Corrective Action, Supplier Corrective Action, and 8D Reporting processes.
  • Establish sampling procedures and implement systems for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as directed.



Education and Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.) or equivalent education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Quality functions and/or Engineering.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, Quality function management, Electronic Resource Planning, Product Realization systems, problem-solving methodologies, continuous improvement philosophies, and Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to interface and collaborate effectively with all levels of management and across functional lines.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • Prior exposure to quality disciplines in Telecommunications, Aerospace, and Space products, along with their respective flowdown requirements.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Black or Green Belt ASQ certification, QMS certification, etc.).

Additional Information

  • Minimal travel to customer locations, Bel Fuse facilities, and other sites as necessary.
