Job Title:

Registered Nurse - 5 North Medical Oncology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 5N Medical Oncology Unit in Wasilla, Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, healthcare providers, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on cancer treatments, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatments, progress, and responses to therapy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care within the oncology unit.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • 2 years of experience in oncology nursing or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and oncology patient care.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
