The Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) is seeking a qualified Inclusive Education Specialist to join our dedicated team working with youth in institutional settings. This role is focused on providing educational support to students with diverse needs, particularly within the County House of Correction for DYS Youth in the Northeast Region of Massachusetts. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in institutional educational environments.

This position is governed by a union contract, with a salary structure aligned with union standards, which includes provisions for paid personal and sick leave. New hires may have access to advanced sick leave, with 4.5 days available, prorated based on the start date. Educators in this role are part of the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) or the State Retirement System, and eligible staff may qualify for loan forgiveness of up to $17,500.

Your Profile:

  1. You are passionate about teaching all students, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.

  3. A current Massachusetts license in Moderate Disabilities, level 5-12, along with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, is required.
  4. You have a desire for continuous learning and strive to stay informed about emerging educational trends, employing best practices to support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  5. You understand that addressing societal inequities requires ongoing education and a commitment to allyship.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement curriculum lessons and mini-units, adjusting as necessary to meet the requirements outlined in student IEPs.
  2. Deliver content area instruction while integrating students' IEP goals, learning styles, accommodations, and modifications as needed.
  3. Utilize effective instructional strategies and research-based practices in accordance with the Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching and the policies of host facilities.

Compensation and Benefits: CES offers a competitive salary range based on licensure and educational qualifications, between $51,500 and $73,000. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, health reimbursement and savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, long-term disability, life insurance, participation in the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System, and optional short-term disability and additional life insurance. We also provide comprehensive professional development, mentoring, and eligibility for tuition forgiveness.
