Position Overview:

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services within a Federal Agency, adhering to established departmental guidelines and protocols. This role emphasizes accountability and alignment with the organization's core values.

Work Schedule:
This position operates from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure cleanliness in designated areas of the facility.
  2. Perform floor maintenance tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, stripping, and burnishing.
  3. Conduct various cleaning activities such as dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, and emptying waste containers.
  4. Prepare and mix basic cleaning solutions as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and care for assigned cleaning equipment.
  2. Evaluate floors to determine necessary services.
  3. Report any equipment or facility issues to the supervisor.
  4. Possess knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. At least six months of prior experience in floor care (including buffing, waxing, and stripping).
  2. Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
  3. Capability to understand warning signs and safety indicators.
  4. Eligibility to obtain necessary security clearance for the work site.
  5. Compliance with Covid-19 vaccination requirements as mandated by federal contracts.

Preferred:

  1. One year or more of experience in floor care and custodial services.
  2. Certification in cleaning management or floor care.
