Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Procedures Technologist Chief to join our Imaging Services team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising staff and area functions, serving as a liaison with physicians, and performing prescribed imaging and patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Services: Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to perform angio imaging per established protocols. Prepare for and assist physicians during procedures, and prepare contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice.
  • Radiation and Patient Safety: Implement radiation and patient safety standards and provide technical expertise for the development of protocols.
  • Documentation and Inventory Management: Complete all required documentation for procedures, including regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution. Charge for supplies and maintain necessary inventory for procedures.
  • Human Resources and Quality Assurance: Assist in the management of human resources and non-labor expenses and activities for the department. Maintain a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies.
  • Staff Management: Assist with tech scheduling, orientation, and hiring of tech staff.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Radiography Certification and Registration American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). CPR certification may be required upon hire.
  • Experience: 3 years as a Special Procedures Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI).
