Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Procedures Technologist Chief to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for supervising staff and area functions, serving as a liaison with physicians, and performing prescribed imaging and patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging and Patient Care
    • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to perform angio imaging per established protocols.
    • Prepare for and assist physicians during procedures, and prepare contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice.
  • Radiation and Patient Safety
    • Implement radiation and patient safety standards, and provide technical expertise for the development of protocols.
  • Documentation and Inventory
    • Complete all required documentation for procedures, including regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution.
    • Charge for supplies and maintain necessary inventory for procedures.
  • Human Resources and Quality Assurance
    • Assist in the management of human resources and non-labor expenses and activities for the department.
    • Maintain a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies.
  • Staff Management and Development
    • Assist with tech scheduling, orientation, and hiring of tech staff.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification
    • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
    • Radiography Certification and Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Experience
    • Three years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology.
  • Certifications and Clearances
    • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
    • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
    • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
    • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree.
  • Certifications
    • Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI).
