Job Overview :

As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, the Chief Technologist of Special Procedures oversees the operational functions and staff within the department. This role serves as a crucial link between physicians and the imaging team, ensuring that all imaging and patient care services are executed according to established protocols. Additional responsibilities include a variety of administrative and supervisory tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Accurately positions patients and selects appropriate anatomical and technical parameters to independently conduct angiographic imaging in accordance with set protocols. Assists physicians during procedures and prepares necessary contrast media and medications within the scope of practice. (30%)
  • Implements and upholds radiation safety and patient protection standards while providing technical guidance for protocol development. (10%)
  • Completes all necessary documentation related to procedures, including regulatory compliance, billing processes, and image distribution. Responsible for charging supplies and maintaining inventory for procedures. (20%)
  • Contributes to the management of human resources and departmental expenses, ensuring adherence to quality assurance programs as dictated by regulatory standards. (40%)
  • Assists with the scheduling, orientation, and recruitment of technical staff.
  • Performs any additional duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements :

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a recognized two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Certification and Registration in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • CPR certification may be required upon hire.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist, preferably in the field of Interventional Radiology.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Clearance certificates as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Certification and Registration in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
