Key Responsibilities


As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Delivering professional nursing care to patients while adhering to established standards and guidelines.
  • Understanding the physiological, psychological, and developmental differences among various patient demographics.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient and family needs.
  • Upholding compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Essential Duties:


Some of the essential duties include:

  • Planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care in line with established practices.
  • Conducting thorough health assessments through patient interviews and medical history reviews.
  • Documenting nursing assessments and interventions accurately.
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families.
  • Administering therapies and medications as directed by a physician.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment by following established protocols.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program, with a preference for a BSN.
  • A valid RN state license and current registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Continuing education in nursing.
  • Experience in nursing, preferably with a focus on oncology.

Working Conditions:


This role may involve exposure to various health risks typical in an oncology clinic environment. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move patients, maintain manual dexterity, and endure extended periods of standing and walking.
