Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing leisure activities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and coordinate leisure activities that are age-appropriate, based on individual interests and goals.
  • Monitor and ensure that individuals have access to a variety of quality leisure opportunities on campus and in the community.
  • Provide information to individuals and staff regarding activities and services offered.
  • Follow up with individuals and staff to verify quality of activities and services, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare and provide feedback reports to the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in critical incidents.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of individual care techniques and treatment programs.
  • Ability to provide individual care, administer first aid and CPR, and conduct Safe Use of Restraint (SUR).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and train/mentor/coach others.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, with minimal supervision.
