Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program high-performance robotics automation systems for automated reagent dispensing systems, micro-plate test kits, and micro-fluidic assay cartridges.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development programs and expand the capacity of existing manufacturing lines through automation.
  • Configure, validate, and troubleshoot automation system hardware and software.
  • Provide equipment support to the consumables manufacturing group and the assay development group.
  • Design and build automated assembly and process equipment.
  • Maintain computer programs and develop new programs to control manufacturing and R&D equipment.
  • Interact with outside vendors to source equipment and components.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in automation equipment design, design for manufacturing and assembly, or a Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering + 3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in specifying, selecting, and integrating assembly, process control, and inspection instrumentation such as industrial robots, PLCs, machine vision, and image processing, and digital and analog sensors.
  • 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, integrate, and validate systems in a GMP, ISO, or other regulated production environment for pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of the manufacture of FDA-regulated devices and experience in the healthcare field.
  • Working knowledge of full lifecycle software development for automation systems using software languages such as C, C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
