Service Manager Job Description

The Lonestar Truck Group and TAG Truck Centers are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences in the heavy truck industry. As a Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal by overseeing all aspects of business operations for the Service Department and driving sales growth through customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Operations: Prepare and manage Service Department sales and expense forecasts, ensuring accurate budgeting and financial planning.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the maintenance shop, vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and up-to-date, adhering to environmental requirements and safety programs.
  • Customer Interaction: Foster a culture of courtesy and professionalism in all customer interactions, ensuring a positive experience for every customer.
  • Vendor and Factory Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and factory personnel, representing the manufacturer's interests and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Work Flow Processes: Monitor and adjust work flow processes to optimize efficiency and productivity, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime.
  • Dispute Resolution: Effectively settle customer and employee disputes, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all company policies are followed, maintaining a culture of compliance and integrity.
Requirements:
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of the mechanical makeup of the equipment serviced by the company.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively present information and ideas to subordinates, customers, and the public.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, with a basic understanding of our business operating system.
