Job Title: Software Systems Engineer - C5ISR Systems Support

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer to provide support for C5ISR systems aboard various Coast Guard aircraft and surface assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Coast Guard Aviation C5ISR systems and supporting equipment in all active versions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily engineering and subject matter expert support services to maintain Coast Guard Aviation C5ISR systems and supporting equipment.
  • Assist the Government in identifying engineering solutions to maintain system hardware and software, support system maintenance, and integration.
  • Provide technical engineering support services to install, update, repair, and/or modify C5ISR systems and spaces.
  • Support the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs).
  • Perform system integration at the Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) Mission Systems Sustainment Lab (MSSL) and assist as required at various other offsite locations.
  • Support the management of Authorized files servers, creation of management and user accounts, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) releases.
  • Perform service desk functions as they relate to Incident Management in support of unclassified and classified enterprise, client, and network services for USCG aviation assets.
  • Provide daily technical engineering and Information Assurance (IA) support for C5ISC and ALC, including evaluation of proposed C5ISR software updates for aviation and affected ground-based C5ISR systems.
  • Support the development of Virtual Machine (VM) and containerized environments for aviation systems.
  • Use configuration management tools to enter and maintain configuration data as directed by the COR.
  • Make use of static analysis tools to mitigate security vulnerabilities in software development.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in an IT field, or equivalent experience.
  • COMPTIA Security+ certification.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6.x & 7.x), and Unix operating system (Solaris 10+).
  • Experience with Virtual Environments (VMWare, Citrix XenServer/XenDesktop) and Containerization (Docker, Open Container Initiative).
  • Experience with Microsoft.NET Framework/C# and scripting languages (Batch, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (Unit Testing, DT&E, Ops checks) and Configuration Management Tools (subversion, Git).
