Position Title: HVAC Technician II

Position Summary: The HVAC Technician II will be equipped with a company vehicle and necessary tools to travel to multiple client sites, ensuring the upkeep of commercial properties. This role requires daily travel and may involve servicing a single location for extended periods. Responsibilities include maintaining tools and managing supply orders for installations and repairs.

The technician will provide support to customer locations in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Duties encompass preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems. A solid understanding of control operations and sequences for HVAC systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct efficient maintenance of HVACR equipment in accordance with established standards. Interpret schematics, blueprints, and service manuals to perform daily tasks effectively.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems while monitoring their operation and recording necessary readings.
  • Oversee Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring refrigerant system efficiency, operating recovery equipment, and maintaining proper refrigerant levels.
  • Adjust and maintain HVAC equipment, including boilers, pumps, valves, and filters, while documenting readings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize strong mechanical knowledge to analyze system operations, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption and immediate cleanup of work areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment as mandated by OSHA regulations.
  • Assist colleagues with major repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring timely communication with clients regarding service requests.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with formal training in HVAC operations. Documentation of training is required.
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience is necessary, along with a Universal Refrigeration License and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Mathematical skills to perform calculations and interpret data.
  • Proactive approach to tasks, demonstrating initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and present oneself professionally.

Physical Demands:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. The technician may need to lift up to 50 pounds and perform ladder work.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted in environments requiring safety equipment, including steel-toed shoes and hearing protection. Compliance with OSHA guidelines is mandatory.
