Optum Clinical Team Manager Job Description

Optum is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Team Manager to join our Home-Based Medical Care team in Seattle, WA. As a clinician-led care organization, we are committed to creating a seamless health journey for patients across the care continuum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of mid-level practitioners, including Nurse Practitioners, BH Case Managers, and RNs, to achieve clinical outcomes and business operation targets.
  • Develop and sustain internal and external client relationships with healthcare professionals, including DONs, administrators, MDs, RNs, etc.
  • Oversee the implementation and adoption of clinical and quality initiatives, ensuring revenue accuracy and growth of same-store and new membership.
  • Partner with staff to achieve business goals, monitor and hold clinical teams accountable for documentation and coding initiatives.
  • Act as a role model to internal and external partners, promoting a culture of clinical excellence and building collaborative relationships.
Requirements:
  • Certified nurse practitioner through ANCC/AANP/ACNP/AG AC NP for adult, family, and/or geriatrics (GNP preferred), or Masters prepared Physician Assistant in compliance with state licensure requirements.
  • Current unrestricted license in state(s) in which practicing.
  • Unrestricted DEA (license to prescribe narcotics) per state regulations (unless prohibited in state of practice).
  • 3+ years of related leadership experience with focus on managing and developing a clinical team, preferably in geriatric care settings.
  • Proven experience in developing and sustaining internal and external client relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records.
  • Proven data analysis capabilities.
  • Proven excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to foster a culture of clinical excellence and build collaborative relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in adult teaching environments.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid environments.
  • Proven solid business acumen, including analysis and business planning experience.
Additional Qualification:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
