The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization in the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Directorate. The department is seeking to hire a Senior Engineer – Fuzing.

As a Senior Engineer – Fuzing, you will develop highly advanced technologies, and concepts to the systems integration of fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.

You will review manufacturing processes and problem resolution as well as work directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of fuzing devices.

Work in a collaborative environment with program management in long-range program planning.

Manage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts.

Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.

~5 years or more of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design.

~Experience with fuzing devices design, manufacturing, testing, safety certification and/or compliance.

~S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Education:
MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
Seven years or more of directly related experience in fuzing devices and their applications.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and systems.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
