POSITION SUMMARY


The Patient Services Specialist 1 plays a vital role in providing administrative assistance within a healthcare setting, ensuring that patients receive exceptional, patient-focused care.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Facilitates patient interactions, including check-in and check-out processes, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and managing phone communications.

2. Coordinates follow-up visits and referral appointments to enhance patient care continuity.

3. Assists with patient registration by gathering and confirming insurance details, ensuring accurate patient demographic information is recorded in the system.

4. Guides patients to designated waiting areas to optimize their experience.

5. Processes payments for services rendered in accordance with established protocols.

6. Accurately posts payments and records charges in the system using the correct coding practices.

7. Generates daily financial reports and reconciles cash drawers with these reports.

8. Provides precise information regarding patient, medical, financial, or procedural inquiries to patients and authorized external parties.

9. May engage in discussions regarding financial arrangements with patients as necessary.

10. Manages incoming phone calls, assisting patients and visitors effectively.

11. Addresses routine questions related to practice services and operational hours.

12. Ensures that patient concerns are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.

13. Supports medical records management as needed.
