Position Type: FULL-TIME

Role Summary:

The primary role of the Certified Behavior Analyst Assistant (CBAA) is to support the planning, development, and oversight of various behavioral interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other related behavioral and social communication challenges. The CBAA will also provide guidance and training to ABA Therapists and other members of the therapeutic team, including caregivers and specialists in speech, physical, and occupational therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize assessment tools (such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS) to create and implement personalized behavior analytic treatment plans.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on direct observations and feedback from therapists and parents, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare necessary reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract requirements, professional standards, and insurance guidelines while keeping organized records across clients and the team.
  • Assist in conducting assessments and summarizing findings, including preference assessments and functional behavior assessments.
  • Participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings for clients as necessary.
  • Promote positive relationships with the community, facilitating collaboration between agencies and advocating for comprehensive services.
  • Employ behavioral skills training to equip therapeutic staff with the necessary skills for client programs, regularly monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Train behavior technicians in the application of ABA procedures and interventions.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including meetings and training sessions for ABA staff.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Complete SOAP notes within the designated timeframe.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, especially in emergency situations.
  • Commitment to maintaining current certifications and competencies as per established schedules.

  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of organization for maintaining records and documentation.

Education and Experience:

  • Valid Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification.
  • A Master's degree in ABA, special education, psychology, or a related field, with specialized knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Familiarity with autism assessment tools and child development principles.
  • Experience in developing behavior intervention plans across various domains, including communication and social skills.
  • Knowledge of current Applied Behavior Analysis methods and techniques, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility in learning new skills.
  • A belief in the profound impact that your skills can have on the children served at Lumiere Children's Therapy.
