Job Title: Healthcare Safety Coordinator

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Job Description:

The Virginia Hospital Center is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the health and safety of patients, staff, and guests by preventing healthcare-associated infections and exposure to communicable diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement infection prevention plans to safeguard patient well-being
  • Work closely with healthcare teams to identify and mitigate high-risk areas for infection transmission
  • Analyze data to inform infection prevention initiatives
  • Deliver educational programs to staff on infection prevention best practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • One year of experience in aseptic technique and data analytics preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or compact state licensure in nursing preferred
Physical Requirements:

This role demands repetitive movement of hands and fingers, walking, frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, reaching, frequent communications, auditory acuity, visual identification, and ability to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with this position.
