Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow

Albany Medical Center – Department of Psychiatry is actively seeking postdoctoral fellows specializing in clinical psychology. Our program offers focused pathways in collegiate mental health, disordered eating, as well as inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy and assessment. Fellows will engage in diverse roles within an academic psychiatry setting, including oversight of psychology trainees and interns, research initiatives, and leadership in the formation of psychotherapy groups.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Deliver outpatient psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to a varied patient demographic.
- Engagement in group therapy sessions and potential involvement in the inpatient psychiatry unit.
Educational Contributions
- Instruct courses, seminars, and didactic sessions for psychiatry, psychology, and medical students.
- Guide residents in their research endeavors.
Supervisory Roles
- Offer clinical supervision to trainees in psychiatry, psychology, and mental health counseling.
- Receive guidance and oversight from the training program director.
Research Engagement
- Participate in ongoing departmental research projects and complete a scholarly work.
- Assist in mentoring psychiatry residents with their academic initiatives.
