Position Overview: Senior Chief Engineer (ICC-B)

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Chief Engineer for ICC-B. This position plays a crucial role in supporting both the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing personnel and managing the maintenance and repair of equipment at a significant government facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Engineering Supervisor in executing operational duties.
  • Oversee and support the maintenance of facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage Watch Schedules efficiently.
  • Guide and facilitate the training and growth of Tour Mechanics.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to monitor, maintain, and repair Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Support troubleshooting efforts for all on-site equipment.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is performed effectively across all equipment.
  • Identify deficiencies during operations and communicate corrective actions to supervisors.
  • Compile and present Monthly Reports on the Preventive Maintenance system.
  • Participate in client and government meetings, providing solutions to operational challenges.
  • Supervise a diverse team including HVAC Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics, Fire Alarm Technicians, and General Maintenance Workers.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and provide necessary reports.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisory staff.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Class 1 Engineer's License is mandatory.
  • CFC Certification is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial building systems, including:

Chillers (500 tons and above), Pumps, Control Systems, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, VAVs, and VFDs.

  • At least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations.
  • Understanding of Building Air Systems is essential.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and favorable Polygraph is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy physical tasks (lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing up to 100 lbs).
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, or moving equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
