Position Overview: The Accounting Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the accounting department with essential transactions within Alliance Resource Group and its affiliates.

This individual will frequently collaborate with both internal and external teams to implement new processes and foster optimization throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute financial closing procedures, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses related to intricate accounting matters.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Accounting close management tool (FloQast) for global application across the company.
  • Regularly assess general ledger accounts to ensure appropriate underlying support and promptly investigate and resolve any reconciling discrepancies.
  • Maintain a close partnership with the FP&A team to support the evolving business needs of the organization.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place, including proper documentation in a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments on special projects and liaise with internal/external auditors on a quarterly basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate confidently and professionally at all organizational levels.
  • In-depth understanding of financial statements, general ledger, and fundamental accounting concepts such as intercompany eliminations, transfer pricing, and revenue recognition.
  • Ability to continuously identify and enhance accounting processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency while maintaining or increasing accuracy.
  • Self-starter with the capability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience in public and/or private sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or medical device companies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, is preferred.
