Position Overview:

The Vice President of Finance (VPF) is accountable for the strategic oversight, execution, and assessment of the financial, technological, facilities, and dining services operations at Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) High School. The VPF is an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team and Strategic Council, tasked with formulating, assessing, and proposing organizational policies and strategic initiatives while driving best practices and process enhancements. This role includes direct supervision of three staff members and indirect oversight of fourteen additional personnel. This is a full-time, year-round role.

Compensation and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures to ensure effective fiscal management of Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) High School.
  • Prepares the institution's annual operational and capital budgets, including the formulation of budgetary processes and evaluation of proposals.
  • Manages the school's facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols and addressing maintenance requirements.
  • Oversees the Director of Technology, ensuring the security, upkeep, and support of DSHA's technological infrastructure and the execution of the Strategic Technology Plan.
  • Supervises food service operations and manages the contractual relationship with external vendors.
  • Administers the implementation of DSHA's investment policy as established by the Board of Directors, serving as the primary liaison to the Board's Investment Sub-Committee.
  • Collaborates closely with the VP of Human Resources on financial assessments related to compensation, benefits, and other HR matters.
  • Contributes to the Senior Leadership Team and Strategic Council, recommending organizational policies and strategic initiatives while fostering best practices and process improvements.
  • Leads and mentors staff to ensure the completion of tasks and adherence to standards.
  • Manages personnel matters, including work distribution, training, and conflict resolution, evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Participates in Board Finance and Facilities Committees.
  • Completes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A master's degree in business, accounting, finance, management, non-profit administration, or a related field is required, OR a bachelor's degree with a CPA designation. A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferably within a non-profit organization, is essential.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong oral, written, and presentation skills are critical for success in this position. The incumbent will engage with diverse groups and must communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines are necessary. Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, financial software, and email, is required. The ability to handle confidential financial information and produce spreadsheets, reports, and financial analyses as needed is essential. Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and related legislation is required, along with familiarity with payroll laws and regulations. The ability to develop budgets and document variances is necessary. Skills in employee development and performance management are vital. The incumbent must be capable of tracking information for presentation to senior management and must align with the mission and vision of DSHA.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based within a school environment, with some travel and limited exposure to outdoor elements.
