Position Overview:

The Guest Services Representative plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to members, guests, and visitors at the reception area, both face-to-face and via telephone. This position requires exceeding expectations under the guidance of the Reception Supervisor and with the support of the Reception Team. Building positive relationships with all individuals is essential to foster a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide an exceptional fitness experience to every member consistently.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service to all members, guests, and visitors upon their arrival.
  • Professionally welcome and check in members, guests, and visitors, expressing gratitude as they depart.
  • Actively engage in member recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Address inquiries, resolve issues, and appropriately direct feedback and concerns.
Job Duties:
  • Manage phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls in accordance with Reception standards.
  • Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Coordinate scheduling for courts and program services for members.
  • Ensure the front desk and lobby area are clean and well-organized.
  • Utilize online software for member check-ins and updates to member accounts as necessary.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Comprehend and adhere to employee conduct and ethical standards.
  • Understand and follow protocols related to the facility, services, programs, and emergency procedures.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be available for morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional verbal and nonverbal communication abilities.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, including punctuality, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive demeanor.
  • Professional appearance, including a smile, uniform, and name tag.
  • Confidence and eagerness to establish new relationships quickly.
  • Capability to rapidly learn and apply new knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and performing well under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, MS Windows).
  • Familiarity with fundamental cash-handling procedures.
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Six months of experience in a health club, customer service, or retail environment preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification required (candidates without certification must obtain it within 60 days of employment).
