Key Responsibilities

  1. Facilitates monthly journal entries for the general ledger, ensuring accurate preparation and data entry across all related entities.
  2. Conducts reconciliations of general ledger accounts and provides assistance with additional reconciliations as required.
  3. Reviews accounts payable batches prior to their posting to the general ledger.
  4. Manages revenue entries for various corporate entities.
  5. Assists the Controller in reviewing cash entries to ensure accurate posting of payments and proper classification of remaining balances.
  6. Supports the annual audit process by gathering necessary information for year-end preparations.
  7. Recommends improvements to policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  8. Supervises daily cash journal entries performed by the Accounting Assistant or other staff, ensuring completion by the following Monday.
  9. Prepares deposits for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, converting data from patient software into a usable format for accounting.
  10. Oversees accounts payable functions by preparing vendor payment spreadsheets as needed.
  11. Ensures timely processing of physician checks in accordance with contractual agreements.
  12. Prepares monthly settlement reports for inter-company payments in a timely manner.
  13. Maintains the ability to scan and deposit daily checks and reconcile deposits with incoming mail lists.
  14. Generates monthly variance reports for management review.
  15. Maintains the Fixed Asset subledger, recording additions, disposals, and gain/loss entries in the general ledger.
  16. Supervises accounts payable operations and stays updated on relevant policies and procedures.
  17. Provides backup support for accounts payable as necessary.
  18. Assists in reviewing journal entries prepared by other team members.
  19. Engages in special projects related to accounts payable and other duties as assigned.
  20. Prepares 1099 forms for applicable vendors in compliance with IRS and state regulations.
  21. Reconciles and makes necessary journal entries for investments on a monthly basis.
  22. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  23. Exhibits excellent customer service skills, seeking opportunities to assist patients, families, and colleagues.
  24. Follows directions from supervisors and works independently with minimal supervision.
  25. Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  26. Consistently meets attendance and punctuality standards.
  27. Participates in required meetings and seeks opportunities for professional development.
