Position Summary
The Ground Service Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of our ground service equipment. This position involves performing both preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all company ground service equipment.
  • Execute complex repairs on vehicles, addressing both electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Service fuel farm equipment as required.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments on vehicles and equipment to identify repair needs.
  • Manage the ordering, receiving, and inventory of parts and supplies.

Record Keeping
Maintain detailed maintenance records for all equipment and communicate any significant maintenance needs to management, collaborating with contract maintenance personnel as necessary.

Work Environment
This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and involves direct interaction with both moving and stationary aircraft. Employees may encounter hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds frequently.
  • Exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
  • Performing tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Engaging in bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing ladders.

Position Type
This is a non-exempt position that includes shift work, requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and company holidays.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience as a vehicle technician.
  • ASE certification is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of technical training in ground service equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Must possess an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass a background check.
  • Must comply with a zero-tolerance drug-free policy, including pre-employment and random screenings.
