Dietary Aide Job Description

As a Dietary Aide at Randolph County Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in providing meals for our residents. Your responsibilities will include working with the facility's dietician to implement recommended changes, ensuring that all dietary procedures are followed, and developing a good working rapport with inter-department personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver meals to residents
  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis
  • Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, and other equipment
  • Sweep and mop floors as directed
  • Carry soiled utensils, etc. to wash area
  • Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
  • Assist in preparing meals
  • Obtain food supplies for next meal
  • Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
  • Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas
  • Serve food in dining room as instructed
  • Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures

Qualifications:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the Dietary Aide may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and body fluids, which can contain AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Chemical exposures are limited to cleaners, disinfectants, and personal care items.
