Job Summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with moderate needs in a secondary education setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve students from all eligibility categories, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Teach literacy, math, language skills, behavioral skills, daily living skills, and/or adaptive skills to students, adapting instruction to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with general education staff to ensure successful inclusion of students in the classroom.
  • Provide physical care needs and support students with moderate needs in a safe and inclusive environment.
Requirements
  • Ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
