Position Overview

Role Summary:
  • Commit to and uphold all safety regulations and protocols to prevent workplace incidents.
  • Understand and comply with all production guidelines to maintain consistent output.
  • Guarantee product integrity by adhering to established work/process instructions and identifying potential quality risks.
  • Execute wiring installations in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical codes and wiring methodologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics.
  • Install arc flash fiber optics and communication cables effectively.
  • Handle transformer cable installations with precision.
  • Exhibit expertise with all necessary wiring tools.
  • Install switch trailer and capacitor bank cabling competently.
  • Maintain clear communication within the department regarding material shortages, engineering challenges, and personnel matters.
  • Show readiness and capability to mentor colleagues.
  • Provide constructive performance feedback to supervisors about team members.
  • Review engineering drawings prior to project initiation.
  • Prepare wire estimates for various projects.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspaces.
  • Lift weights up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Engage in constant standing and frequent ladder work, including climbing.
  • Work overhead consistently and in confined spaces.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Exhibit mastery of the skills required for the conduit assembler role.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to instruct others on tool usage, maintenance, and adherence to Powell standards.
  • Analyze drawings and order necessary conduit and fittings for each task; monitor inventory levels.
  • Lead teams to successful project completion while delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality and project integrity.
  • Accurately complete and track HFDs.
  • Facilitate effective communication with assembly and wiring teams to promote efficient project execution.
  • Resolve minor project challenges and collaborate with engineering staff on drawing discrepancies.
  • Perform standard conduit bends and offsets accurately.
  • Install conduit and devices for both interior and exterior applications properly.
  • Accurately layout, modify, and install wireway/cable trays as per design specifications.
  • Install lighting, pipe lighting, and fixtures for both interior and exterior settings competently.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of conduit types, sizes, and fittings.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with both thick and thin wall conduit is essential.
  • Basic proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Fundamental mathematical skills, including fractions and conversions, are necessary.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is expected.
  • Familiarity with common and job-specific tools is required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately is essential.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting technical prints, including specification sheets and wiring diagrams, is necessary.
  • Capability to perform basic point-to-point wiring is required.
