The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Diesel Technician to oversee our second shift operations in our state-of-the-art in-house shop. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a team of technicians while ensuring the highest standards of safety, customer service, and fleet performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of diesel technicians on the second shift, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on our diverse fleet of diesel tractors and custom car-hauling trailers, adhering to factory specifications and industry best practices.
  • Oversee and schedule preventative maintenance (PM) procedures for all equipment, ensuring timely completion and adherence to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Effectively manage work orders, communicate timelines, expectations, and potential issues to drivers, shop managers, and leadership.
  • Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, powertrain, electrical, and lighting systems on both tractors and trailers.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment issues that could lead to safety hazards or downtime, taking immediate action to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in diesel truck repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards.
