Overview:
As the Lead Project Engineer at Efficus, Inc., you will take charge of overseeing and facilitating the execution of a diverse array of industrial manufacturing capital projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve the creation of essential project documentation, including scope definitions, engineering calculations, design specifications, drawings, cost assessments, timelines, project justifications, technical evaluations, and training materials tailored for our manufacturing facilities across North America. You will collaborate within a global engineering team to meet corporate, divisional, and departmental goals in a cooperative setting. Additionally, you will guide and mentor junior engineers in their professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate project scopes, specifications, timelines, and detailed cost estimates for multi-disciplinary industrial manufacturing capital projects globally, with budgets reaching up to $10 million.
  • Manage and supervise all facets and stages of multiple project assignments simultaneously, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Conduct and/or review comprehensive engineering across various disciplines, coordinating feedback and resolving design challenges with engineering firms and contractors.
  • Design and specify safe equipment and processes, ensuring ergonomic considerations are integrated into all design aspects, while identifying and mitigating potential safety and health risks throughout project execution.
  • Design and specify environmentally compliant equipment and processes, ensuring adherence to all permit requirements and addressing potential environmental concerns during project execution.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, handling projects with budgets up to $10 million.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or materials engineering.
  • Experience in fiberglass, glass, or roofing manufacturing sectors.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technical specifications and contracts.
  • Experience with PHA and HazOp design reviews.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with continuous process improvement methodologies (Lean) in an industrial/manufacturing context.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • A high level of initiative and drive to complete assigned tasks and pursue improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to devise complex and innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Awareness of risk management principles to effectively mitigate risks.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.
