This position oversees a small team focused on effective preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all facility equipment and material handling systems at a partially automated location (MHE). The role is categorized as compliance-critical and requires ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Distribution Center and associated Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate the workflow, motivating, training, and monitoring the performance of warehouse associates involved in maintenance functions.
  • Manage a small team with the ability to direct, supervise, and develop said team members.
  • Diagnose error conditions occurring in the facility and repair accordingly in support of division operations.
  • Implement ongoing preventive maintenance programs for building and material handling equipment.
  • Assess work processes and recommend modifications to increase productivity, efficiency, and accuracy, aiming to improve costs; implement changes as directed or needed.
  • Oversee efficient operation of equipment in the facility; address issues with equipment such as air and heating systems, conveyer systems, and forklift equipment.
  • Communicate facility management of escalating abnormal or critical situations and coordinate resolutions/repairs with outside professional maintenance (if required).
  • Partner with equipment and software vendors on design specifications and improvements.
  • Prepare annual facility operating budget for utilities, spare parts, training, and maintenance contracts and present to management.
  • Acquire bids from vendors for maintenance, janitorial, landscape, and other contracts necessary to support all building and MHE systems.
  • Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, safety rules, and DEA regulations.
  • Maintain records documenting maintenance tasks, spare parts inventory, and tools.
  • Inspect building safety and security regularly.
