Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specialist to join our team at St. Clair Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing patient/specimen identification, collecting blood and non-blood specimens, and conducting specialized procedures specific to the age of the patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient/specimen identification and collect blood and non-blood specimens
  • Conduct specialized procedures specific to the age of the patient
  • Operate computer functions to support laboratory, hospital, reference lab, and registration systems
  • Process reference testing and handle internal and external customer communications regarding reference testing
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of an approved phlebotomy training and 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
  • 3 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Proficient with Sunquest laboratory information system
