Position Overview

This role is integral to the Department of Rehabilitation, focusing on the provision of vocational rehabilitation services. The selected candidate will work collaboratively within a Vocational Rehabilitation Service Delivery Team, ensuring that consumers receive the highest quality of support.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will be responsible for:

  1. Assessing eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services.
  2. Prioritizing service delivery based on individual needs.
  3. Creating and managing the Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE).
  4. Modifying the IPE as necessary to reflect changes in consumer circumstances.
  5. Evaluating employment outcomes and facilitating case closures for consumers.

This position requires a commitment to achieving effective employment outcomes for consumers, aligning non-delegable duties with the tasks performed by team members.

Community Engagement

The Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will engage in community outreach efforts to enhance referral opportunities. Participation in public forums, such as job fairs and orientations, is expected, along with providing training and contributing to workgroups as assigned.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field is required, along with successful completion of a graduate course focused on counseling theories and techniques. Strong interpersonal skills and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Travel may be necessary, and flexibility to work outside of standard business hours is expected. Background checks may be conducted as part of the hiring process.
