We are seeking a highly skilled Pest Control Specialist to join our team. This role will perform technical work related to pest and rodent control within and around University-owned buildings and land.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pest Control: Participate in the safe application of pesticides on University Owned land and buildings, as well as participate in all phases of pest control including insects, weeds, birds, bats, rodents, snakes, dead animals, skunks, and other vertebrates.
  • Schedule Planning: Arrange and plan schedules for pest control in and around University owned land buildings.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Make minor repairs to pest control equipment, order equipment, pesticides and other materials used in conjunction with pest control.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of all pesticide work performed when using pesticides, maintain daily and weekly time sheets.
  • Compliance: Apply and comply with CMR (Code of Massachusetts Relations) and University policies regarding the safe use, storage, and disposal of pesticides.

Requirements:

  • Licenses and Certifications: Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator's License required at time of hire, Class D Driver's License required at time of hire, Massachusetts Pesticide Bureau Certification State Code 41.
  • Educational Background: High School or trade school diploma.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Considerable knowledge in the use, storage, and toxicity of pesticides used in pest control work, and the maintenance of equipment, ability to meet with University staff, faculty and students and fully explain the proper use and type of pest control work being done according to State and Federal Regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Overtime: Must be available for scheduled overtime and callbacks during emergencies.
