Position Overview

The Educator Advancement Department (EAD) provides policy, programming, resources, and administrative functions to support the induction, professional growth, and evaluation of educators in the Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST) program and the Teacher and Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP).

This role is responsible for the overall management of the Educator Advancement Department (EAD), ensuring that state-level policies, programming, and grant-making processes support the equitable induction, growth, and evaluation of educators who work to close opportunity gaps for students.

Key Responsibilities

Policy:
Facilitate the TPEP Steering Committee, including scheduling meetings and developing agendas.
Draft regulations and implement rule-making procedures.
Develop the research agenda for TPEP; oversee the research agenda for BEST.
Analyze legislative proposals, provide testimony on issues affecting TPEP and BEST, and create presentations for lawmakers.
Advise the Assistant Superintendent for Educator Growth and Development on policy matters related to educator induction, growth, and evaluation.
Administer the annual School Employee Evaluation Survey (SEES) and report on the findings.

Program:
Ensure EAD professional learning enhances educators' cultural responsiveness and skills in addressing opportunity gaps.
Manage the professional learning system necessary for TPEP implementation.
Promote EAD initiatives that increase the diversity of the educator workforce.

Budget:
Oversee EAD budgets (BEST and TPEP); develop the TPEP budget.
Manage and approve grant requirements and packages for TPEP and BEST.

Communications:
Develop official communications for TPEP; respond to inquiries from superintendents and stakeholders.

Personnel:
Plan for the staffing needs of the EAD; oversee recruitment and ongoing development of EAD personnel.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree AND five (5) or more years of teaching and/or leadership experience in a K-12 school district.
Two or more years of supervisory experience.
OR A combination of seven (7) years of relevant full-time professional work experience and/or formal education.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal candidate will also possess:
Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
Strong facilitation and analytical abilities.
Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity.
Proactive management of personnel and resources.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience leading TPEP initiatives in an educational setting.
Experience mentoring or coaching educators.

Compensation

The annual compensation for this position ranges from $106,049 to $124,259, depending on experience, educational background, and qualifications.
