We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nursing Supervisor to join our team at Genesee County, Michigan. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing personal and community health programs under the direction of a Division Director.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train subordinate employees to ensure the delivery of high-quality personal and community health services.
- Plan and communicate area and program needs to the Division Director.
- Compile and interpret statistics on personal and/or community health needs of the community.
- Stay up-to-date with state laws, local ordinances, County procedures, and policies related to personal and/or community health activities.
- Monitor and evaluate program status, preparing necessary reports.
- Participate in the preparation of program budgets and review of expenditure reports.
- Makes presentations and meets with outside groups and organizations regarding program and public health concerns.
- Prepare newspaper articles and other information for dissemination to the public.
- Provide input into program goals, projected outputs, and supervise staff to meet these goals.
- Provide nursing input into policies and procedures and public health programs.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of public health nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of public health programs.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to supervise and train subordinate employees.
- Ability to direct and coordinate the activities of others.
- Ability to work with officials of other agencies, employees, and the general public.
- Ability to attend work regularly and work under stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
