Job Summary:

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and services in a fast-paced occupational health setting. You will work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, addressing their medical needs and promoting overall well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and triage patients with routine or self-limiting medical conditions, utilizing your clinical knowledge and skills to identify and address health maintenance/care gaps.
  • Implement planned nursing and medical interventions as delegated by clinicians, recognizing signs and symptoms of common medical conditions and taking appropriate action.
  • Prepare patients for visits and procedures, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available and ready for use.
  • Provide health education and advice to patients on routine medical conditions, procedures, and tests, utilizing standardized tools to determine their level of engagement in self-care.
  • Document all pertinent data and outcomes of nursing care in electronic medical records, utilizing KP HealthConnect and other information systems.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care, addressing complex health needs and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Perform a range of clinical tasks and procedures, including diagnostic tests, therapies, and wound care, within the scope of your practice and individual competency.
  • Respond to messages and requests from patients and other departments, collecting and communicating pertinent data requiring clinician review and input.
  • Facilitate and complete follow-up duties on patients' plans of care, including processing prescriptions and forms, scheduling/staging procedures and tests, and obtaining and inputting patient data to monitor progress.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Practical Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire or Compact License: Practical Nurse within 6 months of hire.
  • Practical Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, communication skills, and literacy in using computers and keyboarding.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure, with a focus on problem-solving, setting priorities, and using good judgment for decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2+) years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • IV therapy experience or recent certification.
  • Familiarity with documenting in an electronic medical record system.
  • Current working knowledge and clinical skills in providing routine care, education, and advice in occupational health.
