Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric ECMO

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our pediatric ECMO program. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory care procedures and modalities, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, and providing education to patients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, including assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and evaluating patient progress.
  • Provide education to patients and families on respiratory care, disease management, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2019.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
