Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our pediatric respiratory care department.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients in the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, Pediatric General Floors, and Pediatric Emergency Department. This includes administering respiratory care procedures and modalities, operating specialized ventilators, and providing medication treatments and therapies as prescribed by physicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized respiratory care plans
  • Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
  • Operate specialized ventilators and other respiratory equipment
  • Provide medication treatments and therapies as prescribed by physicians
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree
