Job Summary

The State of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our Bureau of Public Transportation, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of transportation in our region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in transportation planning, programming, and project management. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop and implement transportation plans, programs, and projects that meet the needs of our communities.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about transportation and has a strong foundation in public administration, business administration, systems analysis, accounting, information technology, or a closely related field. If you are a team player with excellent communication and analytical skills, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of transportation plans, programs, and projects
  • Conduct research and analysis to support transportation planning and programming
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify transportation needs and develop solutions
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents to communicate transportation plans and programs
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, systems analysis, accounting, information technology, or a closely related field
  • 15 college credits in public administration, business administration, systems analysis, accounting, information technology, or a closely related field
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
