Job Summary:

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Associate to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a licensed radiology technologist.
  • Assist patients with questions and concerns about procedures, providing clear and concise information to ensure their comfort and understanding.
  • Prepare patients for exams, ensuring their safety and comfort in the absence of the radiology technologist.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Assist physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits, including procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
  • Retrieve patient orders and requisitions, supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Assist patients with ancillary clinical support needs, such as escorting them to restrooms, providing bedpans, urinals, and other necessary items.
  • Contribute to administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
  • Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging.
  • Medical clerical skills preferred.
