EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (such as safety, technical science, or industrial hygiene) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene, or a Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Consideration will be given to candidates with significant experience in lieu of a formal degree.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in conducting exposure assessments utilizing industrial hygiene sampling tools.
- Capable of calibrating measurement devices and pumps to guarantee precise sampling, as well as downloading data from various data logging instruments.
- Ability to interpret an Industrial Hygiene sampling plan, assess physical and chemical stressors, complete Industrial Hygiene data sheets, and submit samples to laboratories.
- Competent in generating reports using Word, filling out data sheets, and preparing chain of custody documentation for laboratory analysis.
- Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a representative for the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Industrial Hygiene Department: develop actionable items and ensure their completion.
- Collaborate with project teams to assess the need for project/equipment/work reviews and identify potential exposure risks.
- Conduct exposure monitoring, including testing, sampling, and documentation.
- Identify innovative or best practices in exposure monitoring and related recordkeeping.
- Work alongside Industrial Hygienists to improve Industrial Hygiene and Safety protocols.
- Provide training on various topics related to Safety and Industrial Hygiene.
- Assist in audits, formulate compliance strategies, and contribute to improvement initiatives across the organization.
SUMMARY:
This role is essential in delivering technical expertise in Industrial Hygiene and general Safety to mitigate exposure and safety issues within the organization. The primary responsibilities include conducting safety evaluations, managing projects, assessing risks, and overseeing exposure monitoring. This position requires close collaboration with project teams, Industrial Hygienists, and various departments to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
