Position SummaryThe Program Leader I plays a crucial role in delivering services and support to individuals with disabilities under the guidance of the CYS Program Manager. This position involves engaging in various activities aimed at fostering growth and development, directly interacting with individuals to promote participation, providing instruction, and ensuring the physical comfort and well-being of those served.
Key ResponsibilitiesService Delivery:- Provide instruction, support, and supervision to individuals in diverse activities and settings.
- Apply effective teaching strategies consistently when working with individuals.
- Ensure the safety of individuals by adhering to safety protocols in both facility and community settings.
- Assist individuals with daily living skills, including eating, personal hygiene, and dressing.
- Offer physical assistance as needed, including transferring and guiding individuals.
- Deliver comprehensive service support as required.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Individual Service Plans and related goals based on individual needs and interests.
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate a range of activities, including social, vocational, and recreational programs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the varying abilities and interests of individuals.
- Ensure the availability of necessary supplies for activities and manage the setup and breakdown of materials.
- Collaborate with team members to leverage community and center resources for enhancing individual development.
- Assist with ongoing programming and activities as required.
- Maintain accurate individual records and submit reports in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to fulfill the organization's mission, fostering positive relationships with individuals, caregivers, and community partners.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Preferred experience of six months or more working with individuals with disabilities.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Some college coursework in relevant fields such as Child Development, Psychology, or Special Education.
- A combination of education and experience totaling three years.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with diverse abilities.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
- Clearance of criminal background checks.
