Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT System Administrator to join our team at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As an IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to all levels of personnel concerning the implementation and daily operations of computer systems and individual microcomputer functions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for user complaints concerning computer malfunctions, analyzing and troubleshooting error conditions of varying complexity.
  • Review operational needs to detect, diagnose, and resolve significant problems or error conditions relating to computer or related IT products and services.
  • Maintain and update inventory of computer equipment and identify their configuration and location within the office.
  • Support the planning and modification or development of complex systems involving non-standard Bureau operating systems or those involving complex integrated systems.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
  • Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • GS-07: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-05 grade level.
  • GS-09: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-07 level.
  • GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-09 level.
  • GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-11 level.

  • Security+ Certification

Please note that education may be substituted for SE as follows:

  • GS-07: Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level academic achievement.
  • GS-09: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • GS-12: Education may not be substituted for SE at this grade level.
