Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the technical support and administration of the company server/data center and cloud infrastructure. This role involves maintaining, implementing, supporting, designing, and project management of all company server and software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the PTCOA IT Service Desk Request Management System to receive, prioritize, and manage work via tickets and to track time and progress to resolution.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and create and maintain documentation on all equipment configurations/topology.
  • Advise on the needs of the company's server infrastructure and manage the server hardware lifecycle, including specifying equipment for refresh.
  • Provide a secure hosting environment for enterprise applications, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual enterprise servers and storage.
  • Develop, test, and maintain backup and recovery strategies and collaborate with the Director of Information Technology to maintain the company's email and communications systems.
  • Ensure data and physical security of user accounts and server infrastructure by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulations.
  • Maintain the company's domains and manage end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on server and software systems.
  • Schedule and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and maintenance and identify areas for efficiency improvements and consolidation.
  • Stay updated on new and emerging technologies and work with the Director of Information Technology to adjust and maintain the company's technology deployment strategies.
  • Serve as a backup to the Director of Information Technology as needed and supervise and direct vendors and Technology staff engaged in special project work and data communication equipment installation and monitoring.

  • Strong customer service and prompt problem-solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to user questions or computer/network issues.
  • Take initiative to do to redo inadequate or incomplete work, even if it is not yours and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
  • Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision.
  • Adhere to administrative and departmental policies and demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness.
  • Do not incur excessive overtime and remain conscientious in regard to personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them from appropriate sources.
  • Demonstrate adherence and support of company-wide service standards as evidenced by observation and feedback from patients, family members, and other clients.
