The Leave Management Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and administering the leave process. This includes responsibilities in analytics, planning, reporting, technical support, systems management, and project assistance. The specialist will address inquiries and concerns from employees, managers, business partners, and external stakeholders regarding policies and procedures through effective communication and case management.

This position aims to meet established service levels and business performance objectives, delivering a comprehensive range of services while meticulously documenting all cases in the management system.

Compensation: $25 - $28 per hour
Shift: First
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Education Requirement: Associate Degree


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage leave applications within the PeopleSoft system.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for employees on leave.
  • Draft and distribute correspondence regarding leave status, compensation, benefits, and return-to-work details.
  • Collaborate with occupational health professionals on the return-to-work process.
  • Investigate leave-related issues, initial escalations, and individual employee inquiries.
  • Educate employees, department heads, and timekeepers on leave protocols and time reporting.
  • Provide insights on leave policies, federal/state regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Address customer inquiries across various channels (phone, email, chat, etc.), prioritizing and resolving them efficiently.
  • Assist with payroll tasks to support leave timekeepers, including data entry and report verification.
  • Guide timekeepers on accurate time reporting during leaves.
  • Engage with vendors to ensure correct payments of disability and MAPFML benefits.
  • Offer analytical and operational support for leave records.
  • Thoroughly document cases in the management system, updating processes as required.
