Job Summary:

The BMT Clinical Nurse Leader is a key role in the healthcare team, responsible for providing and managing care for patients across various settings. This position requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Educational Requirements:

  • Current State of Illinois Professional Registered Nurse licensure
  • Graduate degree in nursing
  • National certification as Clinical Nurse Leader required upon hire (unless candidate is currently enrolled in Rush University's GEM Nursing Program)

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two years relevant nursing experience
  • BLS; other emergency cardiovascular care certifications as pertinent to practice area
  • Current evidence-based clinical practice and expertise
  • Demonstrated track record of success in participating in/leading microsystem quality initiatives
  • Demonstrated professional and effective communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, written), time management, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Clients will be expected to evaluate evidence for practice, implement evidence-based practices, and use quality improvement strategies to affect improved outcomes in the microsystem
  • Collaborate in provision of education and competency validation, and coaches and mentors new and established staff through department-based initiatives and learning opportunities, and real-time review
  • Reviews and critiques patient care plans, and works with the interdisciplinary team to customize interventions to attain individual patient and family goals, and reduce the risk of complications

Patient Outcomes:

  • Serves as an advocate and resource for the care and coordination of patients across a microsystem
  • Identifies variances related to length of stay, readmissions, and the discharge/care transition planning process across the continuum of patient care, and develops individualized plans to resolve barriers

Salary Estimate:$130,000 - $160,000 per year
