Responsibilities
CHI St. Alexius is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Medical Surgical Team.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who believes in the power of compassion. RNs at CHI St. Alexius play a crucial role in the healthcare team, contributing to success by demonstrating patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. This individual will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Registered Nurse duties and responsibilities, along with additional specific tasks.
- Demonstrates knowledge of unit standards of care, staff competencies, and individual patient care needs to facilitate proper patient placement and care assignments.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including care coordination, physicians, and management, employing effective communication strategies to meet inter-and intra-departmental needs.
- Actively role models and mentors behaviors associated with leadership, assisting others in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Successfully completes defined job-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies as appropriate.
- Ability to organize personnel assignments and activities for the overall benefit of the unit.
- Working knowledge of clinical skills in patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates proficiency in unit operations and the ability to function efficiently during crises.
- Basic Life Support Certification within the orientation period and compliance with re-certification as required.
- FTE Status - PRN - 0.01, 139 hours per year required to maintain PRN status and employment.
- Shift Type - Day Shift.
- Shift Length - 8 & 12 Hours.
- On Call Expectations - None.
- Weekend/Holiday Frequency: No requirements.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
Licensure: Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state.
Experience: At least two (2) years of clinical experience within the specialty area preferred.
